Memories of Layla "lil missy" Pug
It is with such deep sadness that I share with you all that I lost my best friend on September 15, the doggy love of my life for the past almost 14 years. Layla "lil missy" Pug passed away peacefully in my arms with Daddy and Lea next to her. Layla is no longer in pain, although she fought through all of her pain like a true fighter. That was part of her stubborn pug charm! She's without a doubt, the strongest creature I've ever known!! This loyal, well behaved, super sweet and gentle yet stubborn pug known as Layla Pug will always be "Momma's little baby" and "Momma's number 1 pug." She's my first pug and the reason I love pugs so much! She set the bar high. She loved me (us) unconditionally for 13 years and 11 months. When Lexie passed away we told Layla she had to live to be 13 1/2 like her sister. She literally made that happen. Strange how life works sometimes. Layla was happy she enjoyed her retirement in the Smoky Mountains. She now joins her sister Lexie at the rainbow bridge. 😭💔🌈🐾

Thanks to all of you who showed Layla love and kindness recently and through the years. ♥️

We're glad she got to enjoy some yummy bacon this weekend which was against the doctor's orders! But she finally ate and LOVED it!! 🥓 #yolo

In late May early June we found out that Layla's kidney disease progressed into stage 3 kidney failure. Our vet didn't give us a time frame, just told us to enjoy the time we have. That's when we decided to put together a bucket list for Layla. We had to be creative when coming up with a bucket list for Layla as she's already lived an adventurist life. She's lived in 5 states, traveled though 30 states, was the 2018 Mid-Tennessee Pugfest Queen and got to share in the fun during her sister Lexie's bucket list adventure in 2016.

Layla would have been14 years old on October 25th, 2019.
