My Ernie
by Jenn Dunn
I was working as a cashier when two women came in asking if I wanted this kitten they found. They wanted to keep him but they were allergic. I'm a sucker for animals and I LOVE cats so when I went to meet him it was love at first sight for me. He climbed me and started sucking my hair. He found me when I needed him the most. He was my everything. I had him for 22 years and every day was a blessing. Ernie had a bit of attitude .. He wasn't well liked by many but with me he was the biggest baby- the light of my life. He saved me many times from darkness. He was with me when my Dad got sick and passed away- when I moved to the US from Canada and when I met my husband. He accepted my husband the day after the wedding. We dated for two years he only liked him after he made it official. He statrted getting sick about 21/2 years ago- thyroid issues, high blood pressure, arthritis. On Jan 22nd 2016 we decided to end his suffering. He wasn't happy anymore and when I looked into his eyes I knew he wanted me to let him go. Ernie was my very best friend. He was my soulmate. My true love. I would have died for him 1000x. He completed me more than any human could.
Gazoo you saved me when I needed saving. You were and will always have my heart. God gave me the bestest grey little baby and I will love you forever. Gus and Dash miss there big brother- they try to fill the void as best they can but no one will ever take your place. Daddy still looks for you under the shower curtain. He misses you a lot. We all do. I hope you can forgive me. I hope we will see each other again. I will look for you in my dreams. Someday we will be together again. I love you with all of my heart- I miss you Gazoo, my sweet potato and my sweet lump. Please find and take care of Grandpa and Cocotte- I love you:( xoxoxoxo
